Department: Radiology / Imaging Services

Reports to: Operations Director

Direct Reports: Radiology Supervisors, Lead Technologists, Radiology Staff, and other assigned personnel

Position Summary

The Radiology Manager is responsible for the strategic, operational, financial, regulatory, and clinical oversight of RiverPeak Health's Radiology and Imaging Services Department. The Radiology Manager provides leadership and direction for imaging services, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care while supporting organizational goals, service line growth, workforce development, and fiscal stewardship.

This position collaborates closely with physicians, clinical leaders, and executive leadership to develop and implement strategies that advance imaging services, optimize operational performance, maintain regulatory compliance, and support exceptional patient outcomes.

The Radiology Manager serves as a visible and engaged leader who promotes a culture of accountability, collaboration, service excellence, continuous improvement, and alignment with RiverPeak Health's mission, vision, and values.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Operations

  • Directs and manages the overall operations of the Radiology Department and assigned cost centers.

  • Provides leadership, oversight, and accountability for departmental performance, patient care, quality outcomes, regulatory compliance, and service excellence.

  • Collaborates with executive leadership, physicians, and department leaders to establish strategic priorities and operational objectives.

  • Develops and implements departmental goals, initiatives, policies, and procedures consistent with organizational objectives.

  • Monitors and evaluates department operations to ensure efficient, effective, and high-quality service delivery.

  • Serves as a resource and consultant regarding imaging services and related workflows throughout the organization.

Clinical & Service Line Management

  • Oversees imaging services including, but not limited to:

    • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

    • Computed Tomography (CT)

    • Ultrasound

    • Nuclear Medicine

    • Positron Emission Tomography (PET)

    • Diagnostic Radiology

    • Fluoroscopy

    • Mammography

    • Interventional Radiology

    • Bone Density (DEXA)

    • Radiology Nursing

    • Radiology Scheduling

    • Radiology Pre-Authorization Services

    • Special Imaging Patient Transport Services

  • Partners with physicians and clinical teams to evaluate opportunities for new programs, technologies, and service enhancements.

  • Ensures compliance with all applicable regulatory, accreditation, quality, and patient safety standards.

Financial Stewardship

  • Develops, administers, and monitors departmental operating and capital budgets.

  • Oversees resource allocation, productivity, staffing, and expense management.

  • Analyzes financial, operational, and quality metrics to support informed decision-making.

  • Participates in capital planning, equipment acquisition, and technology evaluations.

Workforce Leadership & Development

  • Recruits, develops, mentors, and retains qualified staff.

  • Provides leadership in employee engagement, performance management, coaching, succession planning, and professional development.

  • Ensures adequate staffing levels to meet patient care demands and operational needs.

  • Administers personnel actions in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.

Quality, Compliance, & Safety

  • Promotes continuous quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.

  • Maintains compliance with accreditation, state, federal, and organizational requirements.

  • Ensures adherence to infection prevention, radiation safety, HIPAA, and workplace safety regulations.

  • Demonstrates and promotes ethical business practices and compliance with RiverPeak Health's Code of Conduct.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Develops and maintains effective relationships with physicians, providers, staff, patients, and community stakeholders.

  • Facilitates interdisciplinary collaboration to enhance patient care and organizational success.

  • Supports organizational initiatives and acts as a champion for change management efforts.

  • Promotes a culture of transparency, accountability, teamwork, and respect.

  • Meets all organizational, departmental, and mandatory education requirements.

  • Maintains competency in applicable standards, regulations, and professional practices.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Required

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Sciences, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, or a closely related field required.

Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressive leadership experience within a radiology, imaging, or healthcare services environment.

  • Previous experience as a Lead Technologist, Clinical Coordinator, Supervisor, or equivalent leadership role required.

Licensure and Certification

  • Current ARRT, ARDMS, NMTCB, or other applicable imaging credential required.

  • Current Wyoming licensure, certification, or registration as applicable.

  • Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.

  • Valid Wyoming driver's license or ability to obtain one.

  • Ability to meet RiverPeak Health vehicle insurance requirements.

Preferred

  • Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Leadership, or related field.

  • Previous Radiology Manager experience.

  • Experience leading multiple imaging modalities.

  • Experience in rural healthcare, critical access hospitals, or integrated healthcare systems.

  • Advanced certifications related to imaging services leadership or management.

Working Conditions

  • Potential exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious diseases, radiation, and other healthcare-related hazards consistent with assigned responsibilities.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, squat, kneel, push, pull, and lift as required to perform essential job functions.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment with varying demands and priorities.
