Position Overview

RiverPeak Health is seeking an experienced and collaborative Laboratory Manager to provide leadership and operational oversight for Laboratory Services at our new hospital in Riverton, Wyoming.

This is a unique opportunity to help build and shape laboratory operations within a growing healthcare organization. The Laboratory Manager will lead the development and daily operation of high-quality, efficient laboratory services while establishing the policies, processes, quality systems, and team necessary to support excellent patient care.

Working closely with organizational leadership, physicians, pathologists, and other clinical departments, the Laboratory Manager will play an important role in preparing RiverPeak Health for opening and establishing a strong foundation for laboratory services for years to come.

Key Responsibilities

The Laboratory Manager will provide leadership and oversight across all areas of Laboratory Services, including:

• Lead and oversee daily laboratory operations and service delivery

• Develop and implement laboratory policies, procedures, workflows, and operational standards

• Collaborate with physician and pathologist leadership to develop short- and long-term plans for laboratory services

• Lead laboratory quality control and quality assurance programs

• Support accreditation readiness, including CAP preparation and ongoing compliance

• Monitor laboratory productivity, performance, and operational effectiveness and implement improvements as needed

• Manage laboratory equipment maintenance, supply inventory, and resource utilization

• Participate in annual budgeting, financial planning, capital equipment requests, and cost-control initiatives

• Support the evaluation and implementation of laboratory technology and information systems

• Recruit, develop, and retain a talented laboratory team

• Oversee interviewing, hiring, onboarding, training, competency validation, and performance management for laboratory staff

• Develop staff orientation, proficiency testing, continuing education, and competency programs

• Partner with Human Resources on employee relations, licensure verification, and workforce needs

• Promote a culture of teamwork, open communication, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement

• Collaborate across departments to ensure Laboratory Services effectively support the clinical and operational needs of RiverPeak Health

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in a field relevant to Laboratory Services

• Approximately 3–5 years of experience in a Laboratory Coordinator, Supervisor, Lead, or similar leadership role

• Demonstrated leadership, management, and program management skills

• Strong understanding of laboratory operations, quality standards, regulatory requirements, and patient safety

• Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills

• Ability to effectively manage competing priorities in a dynamic healthcare environment

• Appropriate professional licensure or certification in good standing when required for the position or services performed

An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.

Preferred

• Previous experience in a rural hospital or healthcare environment

Additional Requirements

• Healthcare Provider CPR/BLS certification if performing phlebotomy or other direct patient care services

• Wyoming driver's license or ability to obtain one, as applicable to position responsibilities
